Ken is a Southern Baptist Ordained Minister bringing over 40 years of prison ministry experience and 30 years in drug and alcohol counseling. Jimmie Nell is Ken's right hand and an absolute necessity in their counseling work with females. Jimmie Nell is a retired teacher, after serving for 33 years. Both Ken and Jimmie Nell are college graduates, and Ken proudly holds a J.D. in Law. Additionally, they have been blessed with success in land, timber, and real estate investments.
"We are participating in Champions for Children because knowledge is freedom. It breaks our hearts to see the number of teenagers who can't read, write, or do simple math."
Ken and Jimmie Nell have allocated the funds they raise to benefit Safe Harbor's STRIVE Transitional Living Services Program. This program assists youth with independent living skills such as financial literacy, education completion, job training and acquisition, as well as many other necessary life skills.
