Champions for Children: Alexa Hawkins

A native of Jacksonville, Florida, Alexa has been a Peach State resident for nearly a decade. She began her career managing communications for corporate hospitality brands, including Zaxby’s and Southeastern Grocers, before going on to oversee digital strategy and consumer engagement for travel brands such as Norwegian Cruise Line and Marriott International.

For more than six years, she has led tourism marketing and communications for Jekyll Island, overseeing leisure and group business travel, as well as planning popular annual island events, including Island Treasures, the Jekyll Island Shrimp & Grits Festival, and Holly Jolly Jekyll.
Alexa and her husband, Tyler, are proud new parents who enjoy spending much of their time with their son, Halston, and their Goldendoodle, Zara. You can often find them on their porch swing, dining at Crab Trap, or taking the occasional road trip to Sam’s Club.
